The Controversy is a dark alternative electronic band from Los Angeles, CA, that’s been featured as KCRW Today’s Top Tune, as well as on Bandcamp, LA Record, Yahoo! Music, Bullet Magazine and the Deli Magazine, amongst others.
With its members being from Spain, Denmark and the US, the band presents a unique blend of European electronic music, Scandinavian pop sensibilities and the US commercial drive.
Influenced by artists like David Bowie, St Vincent, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode and Portishead, The Controversy's music has been described as a seamless mash up of dark electronica with psychedelic rock.
The band, which is currently working on their 3rd release with multiple Grammy winner producer Dave Russell (Lady Gaga, PJ Harvey, Justin Timberlake) and Thomas Johansen (Snoop Dogg, All Saints), has recently release a new pungent and powerful single entitled “Dirt” and has toured the United States and Europe.
